A pharmacy professional is needed for an 8-week contract in Saint Paul, MN, offering a dynamic role in a long-term care setting. This position requires flexibility in shifting hours with rotating weekend coverage.
Schedule/Hours:
- Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
- Rotate Saturdays and Sundays
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns
- Ensure legal compliance of medicine supply and appropriateness of prescribed medications
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Deliver additional health services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related problems
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with an active Minnesota license
- Experience in retail pharmacy is welcome; training will be provided if needed
- Ability to handle multiple duties and work within a team environment effectively
