Staff Pharmacist – 8-Week Contract Opportunity in Fridley/Minneapolis, MN

An immediate opening is available for a skilled Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations for an 8-week contract in the Fridley/Minneapolis area. This position requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care while complying with state regulations.

Schedule:

• Shifts vary between 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, 10:00 AM-6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM-8:30 PM
• Rotation includes weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in a timely manner
• Monitor medication compliance and detect potential over-usage or misuse
• Ensure medicines are stocked, stored, and dispensed in accordance with legal requirements
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation meticulously
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, drug interactions, and storage
• Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related patient issues

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Pharmacist in Minnesota (license must be current and in hand)
• Experience in retail pharmacy is preferred; training available for qualified retail pharmacists
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws, medication therapies, and patient counseling techniques
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care
