Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in San Francisco, CA

This per diem opportunity focuses on providing pharmacy services in a health clinic environment serving a vulnerable patient population. The role involves typical retail pharmacy duties, including supervising pharmacy technicians and ensuring safe and effective medication use.

Location:

• San Francisco, CA (Equity Health - SOMA Clinic)
• Clinic accessible by public transit; parking nearby is limited and not reimbursed.

Schedule:

• Friday, March 6 | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Thursday, March 19 | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 8 | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians during shifts.
• Provide patient counseling with sensitivity to diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Use the New Leaf pharmacy system for medication management and record keeping.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws and clinic policies.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active California pharmacist license in good standing.
• Recent retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a clinic setting.
• Strong communication skills with an open, patient, and compassionate approach.
• Familiarity with pharmacy workflow in a community health environment.
• Residing within reasonable commute to San Francisco to facilitate ease of travel, preferably by train, given parking constraints.
