Staff Pharmacist in Santa Ana, CA

An opportunity is available for an Interim Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in the Los Angeles area, providing essential pharmacy support in an inpatient setting. This role requires a pharmacy technician ready to work full-time initially, with potential transition to a PRN schedule after approximately four weeks. This position is ideal for a local technician familiar with hospital pharmacy practices and looking for flexible scheduling.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA area (local candidates preferred)

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time (40 hours/week) for about 4 weeks, then transitioning to PRN
• Rotating shifts among pharmacy staff, including: • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM • 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM • Weekend shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compound IV medications accurately and safely
• Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Support inpatient pharmacy operations for a hospital with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients
• Utilize Paragon/Allscripts order entry system efficiently
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain smooth workflow and patient safety
• Adapt to rotating shift schedules and weekend coverage as assigned

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active Pharmacy Technician license for the state of California
• Proven experience with IV compounding and Pyxis system operation
• Familiarity with inpatient hospital pharmacy processes
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
