Staff Pharmacist | Santa Fe, New Mexico

A retail pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist on a contract-to-hire basis at a busy location in Los Alamos, NM. This position offers a dynamic environment with a high volume of approximately 600 prescriptions daily, perfect for candidates experienced in fast-paced pharmacy settings or new graduates eager to launch their careers.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and provide thorough patient counseling.
• Verify USP 800 non-sterile compounded prescriptions (verification only; no compounding required).
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in processing prescriptions using the Pioneer system.
• Adapt to flexible scheduling within store hours, including rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear New Mexico Pharmacist License.
• Experience or familiarity with non-sterile compounding is advantageous.
• Background in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment preferred.
• Open consideration for recent pharmacy graduates.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm.
• Saturday shifts from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm on a rotating basis.
• Candidates must be flexible to start at either 8:30 am or 9:30 am to accommodate store hours.

This role begins with a 13-week contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance. The compensation during the contract phase ranges from $60 to $67 per hour, with an increase offered once converted to permanent status.
