Staff Pharmacist in Selma, CA

A pharmacy professional opportunity is available for an experienced or newly qualified pharmacist seeking to develop their retail pharmacy skills. This role operates on a 12-week contract-to-hire basis, offering an excellent pathway to permanent employment. The position requires working Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with no weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage.
• Ensure medicine supplies meet legal requirements and prescribed treatments are appropriate.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
• Provide detailed patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and answer patient inquiries.
• Offer consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including proper storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
• Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
• Identify and communicate about drug-related problems with physicians and healthcare practitioners.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California pharmacist license required.
• Open to retail pharmacists who are willing to be trained and develop new skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations is advantageous.
