Staff Pharmacist in Shallowater, TX

An opening opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist role on a six-month contract at a children’s hospital, specializing in pediatric care. This position is based in Shallowater, TX, and is designed for professionals with a strong background in inpatient pharmacy and experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive pharmacy services during night shifts, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication dispensing and administration.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to support pediatric patient care.
• Manage medication inventory and documentation using EPIC and Pyxis technologies.
• Participate in hospital initiatives to improve patient outcomes and medication management.
• Uphold compliance with pharmacy policies and hospital regulations.

Schedule:

• Night shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Work 7 days on, followed by 7 days off.
• Potential transition to day shift later in the assignment to cover a pharmacist on FMLA until January 13, 2027.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Texas pharmacy license.
• Proven experience working in inpatient pharmacy settings.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
• Prior pediatric pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to support a collaborative healthcare environment.
