A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a 250-bed hospital located in the Shasta Lake area, offering a dynamic environment to support patient care and collaborate with healthcare professionals. This role involves working closely with the clinical team, ensuring safe and effective medication use within the hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct order verification to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow and quality
- Consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapy
- Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and adjustments
- Utilize Cerner and Omnicell systems for pharmacy operations
Schedule:
- Choose between two flexible schedules:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Seven days on / seven days off
- Day or afternoon shifts available
Qualifications:
- Current California pharmacist license is required
- Experience in hospital pharmacy and medication order verification
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel and relocate to Northern California
- Positive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Completion of a PGY1 residency is highly preferred
