This acute care pharmacist opportunity is based in Sherwood, AR, within a 336-bed pediatric hospital known for being the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center in the state—a standout facility that offers valuable experience for developing pharmacy professionals. The role is ideal for candidates seeking direct hire positions and offers a choice between temporary or permanent placement, with a preference expressed for permanent hires.

Schedule:

  • 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
  • Thursday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Sunday through Wednesday, 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Responsibilities include verifying appropriate medication doses considering pediatric patient specifics, identifying and managing drug therapy issues such as allergies and interactions, and ensuring high-quality preparation and labeling of medications. The pharmacist will also engage in patient monitoring, education and training of staff and students, drug information services, drug utilization reviews, inventory management, and collaboration with pharmacy management for ordering and substitution needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacist license or willingness to obtain one
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification preferred
  • Experience in inpatient pharmacy settings strongly preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work night shifts
