A retail Staff Pharmacist role is available in Shickley, NE to support a healthcare facility’s mission by delivering pharmaceutical care in accordance with professional standards. This full-time, day-shift position reports directly to the Retail Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy and requires a licensed pharmacy professional dedicated to improving patient outcomes through expert medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, dispense, and oversee the distribution of prescribed medications ensuring accuracy, compliance with legal requirements, and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Provide guidance to physicians and healthcare staff on drug therapy, dosage, side effects, and toxicity.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing teams, providing timely pharmaceutical information and drug usage guidelines.
  • Conduct medication reviews, assess patient compliance, and suggest regimen modifications for enhanced effectiveness.
  • Maintain secure and compliant medication storage and inventory control.
  • Address medication-related inquiries from healthcare staff, patients, and external parties.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations.
  • Contribute to institutional drug policy development, education, and compliance efforts.
  • Mentor healthcare trainees, including pharmacy and nursing students.
  • Provide consulting services to contracted long-term care facilities monthly.
  • Participate in meetings and committees as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school; PharmD preferred.
  • Valid state pharmacy license through national licensure exam passage.
  • Minimum three years retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, compliance, and high-quality patient care.
