A retail Staff Pharmacist role is available in Shickley, NE to support a healthcare facility’s mission by delivering pharmaceutical care in accordance with professional standards. This full-time, day-shift position reports directly to the Retail Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy and requires a licensed pharmacy professional dedicated to improving patient outcomes through expert medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, dispense, and oversee the distribution of prescribed medications ensuring accuracy, compliance with legal requirements, and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Provide guidance to physicians and healthcare staff on drug therapy, dosage, side effects, and toxicity.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing teams, providing timely pharmaceutical information and drug usage guidelines.
- Conduct medication reviews, assess patient compliance, and suggest regimen modifications for enhanced effectiveness.
- Maintain secure and compliant medication storage and inventory control.
- Address medication-related inquiries from healthcare staff, patients, and external parties.
- Uphold strict confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations.
- Contribute to institutional drug policy development, education, and compliance efforts.
- Mentor healthcare trainees, including pharmacy and nursing students.
- Provide consulting services to contracted long-term care facilities monthly.
- Participate in meetings and committees as requested.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school; PharmD preferred.
- Valid state pharmacy license through national licensure exam passage.
- Minimum three years retail pharmacy experience preferred.
