This position offers an engaging opportunity for a skilled staff pharmacist to join a healthcare setting on an 8-week contract in Sicklerville, NJ, starting ASAP. Working primarily daytime shifts with some evenings and rotating weekends, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and effective medication use while collaborating closely with healthcare professionals and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications with accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and detect any patterns of over-usage.
  • Maintain lawful control of medication supplies and ensure prescriptions are appropriate.
  • Keep detailed, confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications covering storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound and prepare medications and sterile solutions following strict protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain inventory control for pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify and communicate drug-related issues effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active pharmacy license issued by the New Jersey State Pharmacy Board.
  • Proven experience in a staff pharmacist role with strong knowledge of medication management and patient care.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Schedule:

  • Days, some evenings, and rotating weekends.
