An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to support a facility transitioning its Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system from Meditech to Epic. This long-term assignment starts mid-March and extends approximately 20 weeks, requiring a dedicated professional with strong Epic system expertise.

Location:

  • Silt, CO

Schedule/Hours:

  • Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Rotating weekends working 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician requests, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
  • Maintain medication stock in patient care areas and ensure safe, cost-effective medication therapies
  • Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles accurately
  • Monitor drug regimens for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness; perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing
  • Review culture and sensitivity data to recommend appropriate antibiotic therapies
  • Provide clinical consultations, suggest therapeutic alternatives, and offer drug information to patients and healthcare staff
  • Document clinical activities and participate in quality improvement, medication reviews, and training programs
  • Serve as a member of the Code Response Team

Qualifications:

  • Active, good standing Pharmacy License in Colorado
  • Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
  • Strong experience with Epic systems is mandatory; Meditech experience is a plus
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Flu vaccine is required with no exemptions accepted during October 1 through April 1

This contract role offers a substantial assignment with a critical impact on patient care during a major EMR transition. Experienced pharmacists with a strong background in hospital pharmacy practice and Epic proficiency are encouraged to apply immediately to be considered for this pivotal position.
