A licensed Staff Pharmacist is needed for a 20-week contract assignment in Silt, CO, starting mid-March. This role involves working a rotating shift schedule with 40 hours per week, including early morning starts on weekdays and rotating weekend responsibilities. The assignment supports a transition from Meditech to Epic EMR; therefore, strong Epic experience is essential. Meditech proficiency is advantageous.
Schedule:
- Rotating day/evening shifts, Monday through Friday starting at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM
- Rotating weekends, 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medication orders accurately, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
- Maintain medication stock in patient care areas and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dosing appropriateness.
- Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing as per protocols and review clinical microbiology data for antibiotic use.
- Provide clinical consultation, medication education, and cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
- Document clinical activities thoroughly and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve on the Code Response Team and support orientation and training programs for interdisciplinary staff.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with at least a BS in Pharmacy.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Required flu vaccination (mandatory from October 1 to April 1 with no exemptions).
- Must demonstrate strong Epic EMR experience; Meditech knowledge a plus.
