A healthcare facility in Silt, CO, is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a contract position starting as soon as possible through mid-August 2026. This role involves supporting patient care during a critical EMR conversion from Meditech to Epic, requiring solid experience with Epic systems. Meditech knowledge is also considered a plus.
The pharmacist will work a rotating shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week, starting at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends working from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This position demands accuracy, clinical expertise, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medication orders as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain medication stock levels in patient care areas.
- Ensure medication therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective per protocols.
- Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized medication profiles.
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including handling controlled substances.
- Monitor drug therapy for contraindications and interactions, perform pharmacokinetic dosing.
- Provide clinical consultations and drug information to practitioners and patients.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts and medication reviews.
- Member of Code Response Team, contributing to emergency responses when needed.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited Pharmacy School with a BS Pharmacy degree.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Flu vaccination required during the designated flu season (October 1–April 1), with no exemptions.
- MUST HAVE Epic EMR experience; Meditech training highly desirable.
