Travel Staff Pharmacist - Alaska

A 13-week Travel Staff Pharmacist opportunity is available in Southeast Alaska for an experienced pharmacist looking for a unique clinical experience in a remote community. This role offers a 4x10-hour schedule and the opportunity to provide comprehensive pharmacy services, including prescription review, medication therapy management, patient counseling, and collaboration with healthcare providers.

Position Details:

• 13-week contract
• 4 × 10-hour shifts
• 7:30 AM–6:30 PM
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Call coverage required
• Housing and transportation assistance available

Responsibilities:

• Review, enter, dispense, and verify prescriptions
• Review patient charts and provide medication therapy management
• Consult with prescribers regarding medication-related concerns
• Counsel patients and provide medication education
• Provide drug information and staff education
• Support and verify pharmacy technician activities
• Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives
• Provide health promotion and disease prevention services

Requirements:

• PharmD and pharmacist licensure required
• Active, unrestricted Alaska Pharmacist License required
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
• Flu vaccination required
• Hospital or ambulatory clinic pharmacy experience preferred
• ASHP-recognized pharmacy residency preferred
• Candidates licensed prior to 2003 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy may be considered with 3 years of hospital or ambulatory clinic pharmacy experience

Important: Candidates must be prepared to complete fingerprinting immediately upon acceptance. Fingerprint cards must be received and processed before the assignment can begin, and the start date may be delayed by the processing timeline.
