An acute care facility in California requires a licensed pharmacist to support both acute and long-term care pharmacy services for approximately 160 beds combined. This contract position offers a valuable opportunity to demonstrate clinical expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, consulting with physicians and nursing staff, and performing pharmacokinetic assessments. The role supports high-quality patient care across 60 acute care beds and 100+ long-term care beds, utilizing Altera Sunrise, a specialized pharmacy information system. Training on this system will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active California pharmacist license
  • Current hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong skills in order verification and medication safety
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate pharmacy technicians effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a new pharmacy information system

Schedule and Location:

  • Position based in California (Solvang area)
  • Variable schedule with afternoon shifts, working four 10-hour days per week
  • Immediate availability preferred
  • 13-week contract assignment
