Staff Pharmacist - Solvang, California

Provide comprehensive pharmacy care services for a healthcare facility supporting both acute care and long-term care patients. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment servicing 60 acute care beds and over 100 long-term care beds. The role requires a California-licensed pharmacist with hospital experience, ready to begin as soon as possible for a 13-week contract.

Location: Solvang, CA
Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule:

• Variable days and afternoons
• Four 10-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification to ensure accuracy and safety of medication orders
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, maintaining workflow and quality standards
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to provide pharmaceutical expertise and optimize patient care
• Apply pharmacokinetics principles for individualized medication dosing and management
• Utilize Altera Sunrise IT system (training provided) for documentation and workflow management

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active California pharmacist license required
• Current hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to adapt to variable schedules and dynamic healthcare environment
• Willingness to learn and effectively use specialized pharmacy software (Altera Sunrise)
