A healthcare facility specializing in ambulatory infusion therapy is seeking a knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to support their home infusion services on a per diem (PRN) basis in Portland, ME. This role emphasizes clinical pharmacy support for patients requiring IV and infusion treatments for acute and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
  • Perform sterile compounding and assist with cleanroom operations following USP 797 standards
  • Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff effectively
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for colleagues as needed

Schedule:

  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling options
  • Additional PRN coverage available on an ongoing basis

Qualifications:

  • Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience, with 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Proven experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding is required
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Strong communication skills, multitasking ability, time management, and critical-thinking aptitude
