Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Spring, TX

This role centers on delivering expert pharmaceutical care by managing medication processes, identifying and resolving drug-related issues, and ensuring patient safety for ages ranging from newborns to adults. Working with a leading hospital EMR system, your expertise will support accurate medication dosing and administration, while upholding rigorous aseptic and infection control standards.

Duration: 13 weeks (starting 9/21)
Schedule:

• Days, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify appropriateness of medication doses based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions to minimize medication incidents
• Accurately enter medication orders using EPIC EMR to ensure error-free processing
• Confirm correct dispensing of medications, maintaining a record free of dispensing errors
• Process medication orders and ensure timely delivery within established guidelines
• Adhere strictly to aseptic technique and infection control practices during sterile product preparation; enforce these standards among pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists
• Complete annual re-certification in aseptic technique/infection control with a minimum score of 90%

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years recent inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory
• Valid Texas pharmacist license
• ACPE IV Certification required
