An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Specialty Pharmacists to support patients with rare diseases by dispensing and managing rare/orphan drugs at a specialty pharmacy site in the Bronx, NY. This role is ideal for pharmacists with a strong background in designated specialty pharmacy settings—retail or mail order—who thrive in patient-centered, high-touch environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense and manage specialty medications for rare diseases, ensuring safety and efficacy
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approvals, reimbursement, and patient assistance programs including grants and rebates
- Provide expert clinical guidance on complex medication regimens and navigate regulatory and payer environments
- Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for specialty pharmacy operations
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the dispensing process
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active pharmacy license in Arizona, in good standing
- Demonstrated experience working exclusively within a designated specialty pharmacy (retail or mail order)
- Knowledge of rare/orphan drug therapies and related patient assistance programs
- Strong clinical knowledge paired with excellent communication skills to deliver high-touch patient and provider support
- Ability to work Monday through Friday during day shifts
- Must submit an updated resume, one specialty pharmacy reference, and a copy of your active AZ license
- Resume must explicitly highlight specialty pharmacy experience and specific disease areas of expertise
Location:
- Specialty pharmacy site in the Bronx, New York (relocation or commute arrangements considered)
This is a contract role with an anticipated 13-week duration, with the potential for contract-to-hire conversion based on performance and organizational needs. Immediate start is preferred.
