Retail Staff Pharmacist | Staten Island, New York

A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists to support patients with rare and orphan diseases through dedicated clinical and patient care services. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in specialty pharmacy, specifically within specialty retail or specialty mail order settings. You will engage in high-touch communication with patients and providers, assisting in navigating complex drug approval processes and supporting payment programs to ease the financial burden of costly treatments.

Location:

• Bronx, NY

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, daytime hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense rare and orphan drugs with precision and clinical expertise
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to ensure proper medication use and adherence
• Assist patients and providers with medication approval and reimbursement processes, including grants, rebates, and payment assistance programs
• Utilize the McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for specialty pharmacy operations
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements

Desired Qualifications:

• Active pharmacy license in Arizona, clear and in good standing
• Proven experience working within a designated specialty pharmacy setting; pure retail pharmacy experience is not sufficient
• Familiarity with managing rare/orphan drug therapies and complex payer systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide high-level clinical support
• Ability to submit a specialty pharmacy reference and demonstrate specific disease state expertise in your resume
