A healthcare facility in Taunton, MA is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for an 8-week contract assignment, with the possibility of conversion for the right candidate. This position requires flexibility in working hours, primarily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure the supply and distribution of medicines comply with legal regulations.
  • Verify suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Advise patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper use and care of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following correct protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts pharmacist license required.
  • Willingness to train retail pharmacists to Long Term Care settings.
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
