Per Diem Pharmacist in Tazewell, VA

This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist working primarily in a retail and compounding environment. The position entails verifying prescriptions, with a focus on retail checks and some non-sterile compounding requiring formula calculations. This role offers consistent, scheduled hours every Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct retail prescription verifications accurately and efficiently
• Perform checks on non-sterile compounded medications, including calculation of formulas
• Utilize Pioneer RX for order entry and processing
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety protocols

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with an active Virginia pharmacy license
• Solid experience in retail pharmacy settings
• Familiarity with non-sterile compounding methods is preferred
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to compounding formulas
• Competency with Pioneer RX or similar pharmacy management systems
