Staff Pharmacist | Temple, Pennsylvania

A healthcare facility is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a contract assignment starting May 4 through August 1. This role offers an opportunity to work daytime shifts, Monday through Friday, with a focus on ensuring safe and effective medication use in a clinical environment.

Location:

• Temple University, Jeanes Campus (Philadelphia, PA)

Schedule:

• 5 shifts per week
• 8-hour day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to verify appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency, and route.
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results for clinical conflicts prior to dispensing.
• Manage inventory control to maintain adequate medication supplies.
• Provide drug information and support to healthcare team members.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication preparation.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team on continuum of care and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education required.
• Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) is preferred.
• Pennsylvania Pharmacist License is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital setting or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
