A full-time Staff Pharmacist position is available in Thompson, UT, offering an opportunity to deliver essential pharmacy services within a retail/community setting. This contract role is ideal for pharmacists ready to contribute their expertise in medication dispensing, patient care, and pharmacy operations while working a flexible schedule that includes coverage during key holiday periods.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory management including audits, ordering, and supplier coordination.
  • Dispense prescription medications accurately, verify prescriptions, and conduct medication reviews.
  • Maintain patient records with confidentiality and administer immunizations under established protocols.
  • Provide personalized patient consultations and address inquiries on medications and insurance matters.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance medication therapy management.
  • Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and students as needed.
  • Engage in community outreach and build relationships with healthcare providers.

Schedule:

  • Approximately 40 hours per week with variable hours covering retail operating hours.
  • Holiday coverage includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day with specified shifts.
  • Pharmacy hours: Monday-Saturday 9:30 AM–8:30 PM; Sunday 2:30 PM–7:30 PM; adjusted hours on holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Current, unrestricted Utah pharmacist license, including controlled substances.
  • Strong communication and computer skills; proficiency with pharmacy software and Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, capable of independent and team collaboration.
  • Willingness to understand financial aspects of pharmacy operations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Three or more years in retail pharmacy.
  • APhA Immunization Certification.
  • Prior pharmacy management experience.
