A healthcare facility within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System is seeking experienced Staff Pharmacists to support their inpatient pharmacy operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting while addressing essential operational needs. Location: Torrance, CA
Job Type: Contract (with potential for temp-to-perm conversion)
Schedule: Variable days/afternoons, four 10-hour shifts per week (4/7 schedule)
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
- Conduct thorough clinical reviews and support rounds as needed
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Participate in competency assessments and comply with onboarding processes
Desired Qualifications:
- PharmD degree with current licensure as a pharmacist
- Preference for candidates with PGY1 residency or a minimum of two years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to pass a competency exam and clear background checks including Livescan
- Adaptability to variable schedules and commitment to professional development
