Staff Pharmacist | Tularosa, New Mexico

Seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a contract position based in Tularosa, NM. This role requires a dedicated professional to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care in a community retail pharmacy environment, supporting patient health and safety through accurate medication dispensing and counseling.

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required at a secondary retail location

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Disclosure and verification of all active/inactive licenses
• Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain within 30 days
• Availability to cover shifts, including occasional weekends, at secondary location

Ideal Experience:

• Proficient in retail pharmacy operations within a grocery store setting
• Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
• Capable of supervising pharmacy technicians effectively
• Flexible and adaptable to support multiple locations
• Open to travel and available for assignments of 13 weeks or more; shorter contracts considered

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medications following all protocols
• Maintain precise patient medication profiles
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify daily workflow
• Assist in medical emergency response efforts as part of the pharmacy team
• Conduct medication storage inspections and manage outdated stock
• Train and orient new pharmacy team members
• Uphold infection control standards throughout pharmacy operations
