Staff Pharmacist in Valdez, AK

This is a 7-week contract opportunity to provide pharmacy services at a critical access hospital’s retail pharmacy in remote Alaska. The assignment begins June 1st in Cordova, Alaska, offering a unique chance to experience small-town Alaskan life and explore the area during the summer months. You will be responsible for staffing the retail pharmacy window, ensuring accurate dispensing and excellent patient care.

Location: Cordova, Alaska
Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescriptions and counsel patients at the retail pharmacy window
• Maintain accurate medication records and ensure compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals within the hospital setting
• Provide excellent customer service in a small community hospital environment

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Active Alaska pharmacist license mandatory
• Minimum of two years of pharmacy experience
