Staff Pharmacist | Valley Head, West Virginia

A busy hospital-owned pharmacy serving a close-knit community is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a 12-week contract assignment beginning September 8th. This role is ideal for a pharmacist ready to provide comprehensive retail pharmacy services in a supportive environment that includes a gift shop and coffee shop, enhancing patient and visitor experience.

Based in a retail pharmacy setting that processes approximately 4,000 prescriptions per month, you will be entrusted with overseeing pharmacy operations. The typical work schedule includes 20 hours per week over two days, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch, but there is flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists
• Verify prescriptions, dispense medications, and ensure patient safety in medication distribution
• Manage inventory, medication stock levels, and formulary compliance
• Ensure adherence to controlled substance regulations and documentation
• Administer and maintain 340B program compliance
• Handle pharmacy billing, claims submission, and account reconciliation
• Utilize electronic health records and pharmacy systems, with training provided on Pioneer RX software
• Participate in workflow enhancements and quality improvement initiatives
• Administer immunizations as part of pharmacy services

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and clear West Virginia pharmacist license
• Experience with Pioneer RX pharmacy software preferred
• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not mandatory
• Current CPR certification and immunization certification active
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills essential
