LTC Staff Pharmacist | Van Nuys, California

A growing independent pharmacy near Northridge, CA, is seeking a part-time pharmacist with expertise in long-term care (LTC) and multi-dose prescription filling. Schedule:

• Every other weekend
• 2-3 weekdays

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions in line with federal and state laws, considering dosage, patient allergies, disease states, drug interactions, and formularies
• Provide clinical and therapeutic guidance to physicians, nurses, and patients as needed
• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from healthcare providers and client facilities
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure accuracy and efficient workflow
• Assist with billing and documentation by verifying necessary information
• Receive and verify medications and supplies from wholesalers and suppliers
• Organize and audit controlled substance records to maintain compliance
• Verify and maintain Emergency Kits, ensuring accurate products, expiration dates, and overall condition
• Support pharmacy safety standards and participate in regulatory inspections, surveys, and audits
• Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations

Qualifications:

• Current California pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience in long-term care pharmacy and multi-dose prescription filling preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and safety standards
• Excellent communication and clinical skills
• Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively within a pharmacy team
