Pharmacist in Ventura, CA

Two inpatient pharmacist positions are available at a prominent medical center in Ventura County, offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. These full-time roles encompass primarily 10-hour shifts (four days per week) with some 8-hour shifts, including variable schedules that may require swing shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Location: Ventura County Medical Center, Ventura, CA
Job Type: Contract, approximately 3 to 6 months with the potential for temp-to-hire
Schedule:

• Full-time hours
• Primarily 4 ten-hour shifts per week
• Some 8-hour shifts depending on pharmacy area
• Variable shifts including swing shifts, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient pharmaceutical care to support multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately dispense medications and review prescriptions for appropriateness
• Monitor patient therapy for efficacy and safety
• Collaborate with medical staff to optimize medication management
• Assist with inventory control and compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications:

• Valid California Pharmacist license required
• Experience with Cerner pharmacy systems highly preferred; training available for qualified candidates
• Strong clinical knowledge in inpatient pharmacy operations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexible hours
