Two inpatient pharmacist positions are available at a prominent medical center in Ventura County, offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. These full-time roles encompass primarily 10-hour shifts (four days per week) with some 8-hour shifts, including variable schedules that may require swing shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Location: Ventura County Medical Center, Ventura, CA
Job Type: Contract, approximately 3 to 6 months with the potential for temp-to-hire
Schedule:
- Full-time hours
- Primarily 4 ten-hour shifts per week
- Some 8-hour shifts depending on pharmacy area
- Variable shifts including swing shifts, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient pharmaceutical care to support multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Accurately dispense medications and review prescriptions for appropriateness
- Monitor patient therapy for efficacy and safety
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize medication management
- Assist with inventory control and compliance with hospital policies
Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist license required
- Experience with Cerner pharmacy systems highly preferred; training available for qualified candidates
- Strong clinical knowledge in inpatient pharmacy operations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexible hours
