Per Diem Staff Pharmacist | Vestal, New York

A well-established retail pharmacy location in Vestal, NY is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to join their team on a per diem basis, with full-time floating opportunities. This position offers a stable schedule with 36 hours bi-weekly, Monday through Sunday coverage, including extended hours on weekdays and weekends.

Facility: Retail pharmacy setting
Schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 9 AM – 7 PM
• Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM
• Sunday: 10 AM – 2 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to monitor and control inventory by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand efficiently.
• Accurately weigh, measure, and mix medications and other medical compounds; ensure fillings in prescription bottles are precise. Advise self-medicating patients and dispense over-the-counter medications.
• Maintain clear communication with healthcare providers and insurance professionals to ensure proper patient care.
• Administer patient immunizations regularly, contributing to community health initiatives.
• When the Pharmacy Manager is absent, handle scheduling, performance recognition, discipline, and assignment of pharmacy associates to optimize team performance and company objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree required.
• Valid New York State Pharmacist License.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacy staff.
