Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Virginia Beach, VA

An immediate opportunity is available for an Inpatient Pharmacist at a well-established medical center in Virginia Beach, VA. This 13-week contract position offers a critical role in supporting patient care through expert medication management across rotating shifts. Candidates must have their Virginia pharmacist license ready at the time of application to be considered.

Schedule/Hours:

• Rotating shifts
• Day shifts: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Evening shifts: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Overnight shifts: 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM, 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders with accuracy and clinical judgement
• Manage IV medications, pain control analgesia, antibiotics, and drug interactions
• Enter orders and maintain detailed medication records in EPIC electronic medical records
• Participate in pharmacokinetic and renal dosing, with preferred experience in chemotherapy and anticoagulants
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize inpatient medication therapy

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Virginia pharmacist license (must be in hand at submittal)
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience; travel pharmacy experience is a plus
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records required
• Strong background in IV therapies, ordering, and verification practices
