A long-term care pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist in Washington, NC. This 13-week contract role offers the potential to convert to permanent based on performance. The position is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with rotating Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage.
- Ensure lawful handling and supply of medicines.
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure monitoring.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like glucose meters.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocol.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina pharmacist license required.
- Experience in retail pharmacy is accepted; training provided as needed.
- Capable of managing PV1 and PV2 duties.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Rotating Saturdays
