Staff Pharmacist | Washingtonville, Pennsylvania

This role offers an opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic setting focused on patient care and medication safety. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate prescription dispensing, providing medication counseling, and collaborating closely with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing proactive patient counseling and medication education over the phone, addressing inquiries on new prescriptions, refills, side effects, adherence, and proper medication use
• Collaborating with prescribers and clinical offices to clarify prescriptions and resolve issues that may delay medication dispensing
• Reviewing and clinically verifying new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, potential drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy
• Performing pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a high-volume closed-door fulfillment environment to ensure accuracy of drug, dose, quantity, and labeling before dispensing
• Assisting pharmacy management staff in receiving, processing, and transferring prescriptions, managing the full cycle of prescription transfers to support continuity of care

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania
• 0-6 years of experience as a pharmacist, with preference given to candidates experienced in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy settings. New graduates are welcome to apply
