Staff Pharmacist - Wasilla, Alaska

A contract pharmacist opportunity is available at a behavioral health hospital in Alaska, focusing on acute care and behavioral health patients including pediatrics and detox. This role requires coverage during a department head’s leave, with an expected duration of approximately eight weeks starting immediately.

Location: Anchorage, AK

Schedule:

• Mondays, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekly
• August 3rd to 7th, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily
• Potential additional weekday coverage as needed
• No current weekend shifts; possible on-call support may be requested

Key Responsibilities:

• Entering medication orders via HCS Web EMR (training provided onsite)
• Conducting Omnicell medication checks (access through Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop; onsite training available)
• Monitoring drug therapies to ensure patient safety
• Collaborating with pharmacy technician for medication distribution

Qualifications:

• Active Alaska pharmacist license (required)
• Experience in acute care or behavioral health pharmacy preferred
• Ability to work independently within a small pharmacy team
