Staff Pharmacist in Waukesha, WI

This opportunity is designed for a licensed pharmacist seeking a contract assignment in a dynamic pharmacy setting. The position offers valuable hands-on experience dispensing medications and collaborating with healthcare professionals, located in Waukesha, WI. This role is a 9-week contract starting on August 17, working the 2nd shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
• Maintain meticulous, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
• Provide expert patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following stringent protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient workflow.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Wisconsin pharmacist license (in-hand) is required.
• Open to retail pharmacists eager to expand their clinical skills; training will be provided.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
