Staff Pharmacist - West Chester, OH

Provide expert pharmaceutical care as a licensed Ohio pharmacist in a hospital setting during night shifts, ensuring medication safety and effective therapy for patients. This role is a contract position, beginning June 1, for a duration of 13+ weeks with a schedule of 7 nights on, 7 nights off, from 8:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Location: Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, OH

Schedule:

• 7 nights on / 7 nights off
• Shift hours: 8:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Thursday night through Wednesday night)
• Start date: June 1
• Contract duration: 13+ weeks

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing, interpreting, and accurately dispensing medication orders and prescriptions
• Monitoring and managing patient medication therapies to ensure safety and efficacy
• Communicating drug information to patients, families, and healthcare providers
• Supporting emergency drug therapy management and medication preparation
• Coordinating daily activities of pharmacy technicians to optimize patient care
• Upholding departmental policies, maintaining quality standards, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives
• Demonstrating professionalism through integrity, empathy, teamwork, and stewardship of resources

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing
• Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an accredited pharmacy program
• Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with medical staff and patients
• Ability to work analytical and problem-solving tasks during overnight hours with attention to detail and safety
