Two openings are available for staff pharmacists to support inpatient hospital pharmacy operations. This contract opportunity runs from late May through mid-August 2026, offering hands-on experience at a 222-bed facility with an average daily census of 120 patients.
Location:
Lancaster, OH (Fairfield Medical Center)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Every sixth weekend coverage required
Responsibilities:
- Verify inpatient medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Oversee sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding processes
- Participate in hospital codes and emergencies
- Assist nursing and provider staff with medication management decisions
- Dispense medications and provide patient education as needed
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians who support medication preparation, delivery, and pharmacy workflow
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Ohio Pharmacist License required
- Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, including:
- Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) verification
- Pharmacotherapy expertise
- Antibiotic and renal dosing knowledge
- Time management and prioritization skills
- Experience with sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding oversight
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system preferred (training available)
- Experience with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets beneficial
