A per diem pharmacist opportunity is available in Westerville, OH, supporting a specialty retail pharmacy that focuses on complex patient care. This role requires managing medication therapies for patients who often take 8-15 medications daily, emphasizing thorough consultation and patient understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert consultation to patients with chronic and advanced disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
• Manage medication therapies with attention to patient-specific needs and potential complications.
• Communicate clearly and patiently with a Medicare/Medicaid, low-income patient population, many of whom have low literacy levels.
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software to accurately process prescriptions and maintain patient records.
• Collaborate within a specialty retail environment focused on quality patient care, not volume.

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy background is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in disease state management and patient consultation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and compassion.
• Knowledge of the top 200-400 drugs commonly dispensed in a retail setting.
• Experience working with complex medication regimens is a plus.
