Join a well-established healthcare system as a Staff Pharmacist providing essential inpatient services at a renowned Los Angeles County Department of Health hospital. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a large health system that includes multiple ambulatory care centers and hospitals, with potential for eventual permanent placement.

Location:

  • Sylmar, CA (worksite for this opportunity)
  • Must be flexible to work in Whittier, CA as needed

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Primarily 1st and 2nd shifts with occasional 3rd shift coverage

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in an inpatient hospital setting
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Complete a competency exam prior to starting employment
  • Participate in onboarding, including background checks and verification processes

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • New PGY1 residents preferred, but candidates with some hospital experience (including internships) will be considered
  • Approximately 2 years of current inpatient experience highly desired for non-PGY1 candidates
  • Ability to work various shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, accuracy, and professional development
