A healthcare facility in Williamston, NC is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance. This position offers a dynamic environment where you will play a critical part in supporting long-term care patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturdays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse.
  • Ensure prescriptions are appropriate and maintain confidential patient records accurately.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to optimize patient care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active North Carolina pharmacist license (in-hand)
  • Willingness to train retail pharmacists transitioning into this setting
  • Experience or willingness to perform PV1 and PV2 duties
  • Strong communication and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
