A healthcare facility in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to provide per diem coverage. This role involves critical inpatient pharmacy support within a behavioral health setting and requires a North Carolina pharmacist license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders and collaborate effectively with nursing staff and providers
  • Ensure accuracy in product verification and efficient use of Omnicell automation
  • Support antimicrobial stewardship efforts to optimize patient outcomes
  • Work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacy team to meet patient needs
  • Support pharmacy technicians with filling, repackaging, and distribution tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in North Carolina
  • Experience with inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
  • Familiarity with Omnicell or Pyxis systems is preferred
  • Behavioral health pharmacy experience is a plus but not mandatory
  • Willingness to learn HCS order entry system; training will be provided

Schedule & Training:

  • Training begins early May with 5 full-day sessions (May 5-8 and 11-15, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm)
  • Coverage on May 16-17 and May 30-31 from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm
  • Further June dates to be determined
  • Regular shifts: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm weekdays; weekend shifts 7:30 am – 2:30 pm

Work Environment:

  • The pharmacy team consists of a Director of Pharmacy, a part-time pharmacist currently going on maternity leave, a recently hired per diem pharmacist, and pharmacy technicians across full-time and weekend per diem roles.
  • Dress code is black or sage green scrubs or business casual attire.
