This per diem pharmacist position offers an excellent opportunity to provide vital pharmacy services within an inpatient behavioral health setting. Based in Winston-Salem, NC, the role supports a focused team that includes a Director of Pharmacy, full-time and part-time pharmacists, and technicians. Training begins in early May, with specific shifts scheduled to ensure readiness and effective coverage.

Key responsibilities include order verification, product verification, and active collaboration with nursing and providers to meet patient medication needs. Pharmacists will also utilize Omnicell technology and participate in antimicrobial stewardship efforts. The role requires working closely with the pharmacy team and Director of Pharmacy to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care.

Schedule and coverage details:

  • Training: May 5-8 and May 11-15, 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Coverage: May 16-17 and May 30-31, 7:30am – 2:30pm
  • Ongoing June dates to be determined
  • Regular hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm; weekends: 7:30am – 2:30pm

Qualifications and preferred experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in North Carolina required
  • Inpatient hospital experience essential
  • Experience with Omnicell preferred; Pyxis experience acceptable
  • Behavioral health pharmacy experience highly valued
  • Ability to use order entry systems; HCS training provided
