Per Diem Pharmacist - Winston-Salem, NC

Provide professional pharmacy services to support inpatient care at a behavioral health facility in Winston-Salem, NC. This per diem position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with nursing staff, providers, and a dedicated pharmacy team within a specialized behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and ensure accuracy and safety in dispensing
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff and healthcare providers to meet patient needs
• Utilize Omnicell automation system proficiently for medication distribution
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
• Support pharmacy operations alongside the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacy team

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of North Carolina (required)
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
• Knowledge of Omnicell or Pyxis automation systems (preferably Omnicell)
• Behavioral health pharmacy experience is highly preferred
• Willingness to train on HCS order entry system (training provided)

Schedule and Training:

• Start with five training days during May 5-8 and May 11-15, from 7:30am to 4:30pm
• Coverage dates: May 16-17 and May 30-31, 7:30am to 2:30pm
• Additional shifts in June and beyond to be determined
• Regular hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm with weekend shifts from 7:30am to 2:30pm

Work Environment and Team:

• Collaborative setting with one Director of Pharmacy, part-time and per diem pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians
• Support for pharmacy technicians in medication filling, repackaging, and distribution
• Dress code of black or sage green scrubs or business casual attire
