Step into a vital Radiation Therapy role where you’ll deliver and support advanced cancer treatments in a well-equipped healthcare environment. Your responsibilities will include administering both routine and specialized radiation procedures per prescribed physician plans, collaborating with physicians and healthcare practitioners, and ensuring patient comfort through exceptional communication. You’ll have opportunities to guide new staff and students, perform essential clerical duties, and uphold rigorous safety and operational standards to maintain the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer routine and specialized radiation therapy treatments according to established protocols.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate complex radiation therapy equipment; report and arrange repairs as needed.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, easing their anxieties and earning trust.
- Prepare, assist, and educate patients, physicians, and staff throughout treatment and simulation procedures.
- Mentor and train students and new therapists, fostering a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Complete accurate documentation, update patient records, and manage scheduling and supplies.
- Adhere to ALARA principles, safety standards, and cleanliness protocols to minimize exposure risks.
Qualifications:
- Valid BLS, AART, and CRT certifications required.
- Prior experience with radiation therapy procedures and equipment.
- Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
