Radiation Therapist - Belvidere, Illinois

Skilled Radiation Therapists are needed for a 13-week assignment serving a busy cancer center equipped with two advanced linear accelerators (Varian TrueBeam and Varian EDGE). In this critical role, you’ll perform high-quality radiation therapy services for 64-68 patients daily across two treatment units. This position requires someone comfortable working both independently and efficiently to meet patient care demands.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Clinic open 7:00am to 5:30pm
• Hours are flexible based on patient volumes

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Radiation Therapy license (must be in hand at submission)
• Radiation Therapy certification from ARRT and IEMA required
• Experience working in mid-to-large hospital settings preferred
• Strong ability to multi-task and operate independently
• Demonstrated proficiency using ARIA record and verify system (experience with upcoming upgrade to v18.1 is a plus)
• Must live outside a 60-mile radius; local candidates will not be considered

Responsibilities:

• Deliver precise radiation treatments as prescribed by oncologists for cancer patients
• Operate and maintain two linear accelerators (Varian TrueBeam and EDGE)
• Coordinate patient schedules and document treatments using ARIA electronic medical record system
• Monitor patient well-being and respond to any side effects or emergencies during therapy sessions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and dosimetry staff for optimal patient outcomes
