Qualifications and Experience:
- Active certification as a Radiation Therapist (ARRT or equivalent required)
- Demonstrated experience in delivering external beam radiation treatments
- Proficient in operating linear accelerators and associated equipment
- Solid understanding of radiation safety and dosing protocols
- Ability to interpret physician orders and treatment plans
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation skills
- Effective communication abilities for working with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate and patient-centered care approach
- Current BLS certification preferred
Schedule/Hours:
- Consistent weekday schedule
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, position, and administer radiation therapy as prescribed by radiation oncologists
- Accurately calibrate, operate, and maintain radiation therapy equipment
- Monitor patients during treatment and respond to any concerns or changes in condition
- Maintain precise and timely treatment records, documenting each session's details
- Uphold strict safety standards to protect patients, visitors, and staff from unnecessary exposure
- Educate patients about procedures, providing reassurance and answering questions
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance, safety, and improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes
