Radiation Therapist in Cary, NC

Schedule/Hours:

• Clinic operates Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Shifts may vary within clinic hours; current plan is 4x10 hour shifts per week, to be finalized following a phone interview

Qualifications:

• Proven experience administering radiation therapy
• Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT or equivalent) required
• Proficiency with Elekta equipment strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of radiation safety and quality assurance procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Previous experience constructing patient immobilization devices and assisting with advanced treatments is a plus
• Capable of providing instruction and evaluation for students in a clinical setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation therapy according to physicians’ treatment plans and patient protocols
• Accurately enter data, set controls, and regulate dosages on therapeutic equipment
• Work closely with physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists to craft technical aspects of treatments
• Construct and position patient immobilization devices as directed
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for daily use and specific patient needs
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records, treatment reports, and dosage documentation
• Adhere to all safety guidelines to protect patients, colleagues, and oneself
• Perform necessary quality assurance checks per regulatory guidelines
• Mentor and instruct student radiation therapists during clinical experiences
