Radiation Therapist - Durham, North Carolina

Deliver top-notch care and advanced technical expertise in this vital radiation therapy role. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered treatments using cutting-edge equipment in a dynamic clinical setting.

Schedule/Hours:

• Clinic operates Monday–Friday, 6:00am–6:00pm
• Typical schedule is four 10-hour days per week (exact shifts to be confirmed during interview)
• Contract position

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Certification and registration as a Radiation Therapist (ARRT or equivalent)
• Experience administering radiation therapy in line with physician directives and treatment plans
• Familiarity with Elekta equipment is strongly preferred
• Ability to construct and utilize patient immobilization devices as needed
• Capable of entering treatment data accurately, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and facility requirements
• Commitment to safety protocols for patients and staff, including use of appropriate protective equipment
• Experience performing quality assurance in conformance with regulatory standards
• Strong collaboration skills to interact effectively with radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and other medical professionals
• Willingness to provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation therapy treatments following physicians’ instructions and patient plans
• Set up, operate, and regularly adjust equipment to ensure precise dosage
• Assist in developing and implementing complex radiation treatment plans, including advanced therapies like total body irradiation or stereotactic radiosurgery
• Maintain treatment records, logs, and reports according to established protocols
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for each patient session
• Monitor patient reactions and respond appropriately
• Participate in creating and maintaining a safe, supportive clinical environment
