Radiation Therapist in Freeport, IL

Deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic radiation oncology environment, utilizing your expertise as a Radiation Therapist. This contract role involves working with a dedicated team in a busy cancer center, treating a high daily patient volume. You’ll operate state-of-the-art equipment including Varian TrueBeam and Varian EDGE linear accelerators, ensuring safe, accurate radiation delivery.

Schedule:

• 13-week contract
• Monday – Friday, between 7:00am and 5:30pm (flexible hours based on patient load)
• No weekends or on-call required

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Certification in Radiation Therapy from ARRT and IEMA
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task in fast-paced settings
• Experience working in mid-to-large hospital environments
• Proficiency with ARIA record and verify system (familiarity with or ability to learn version 18.1 upgrade)
• Candidates must be willing to commute from outside a 60-mile radius

Key Responsibilities:

• Treat 64–68 patients daily utilizing two treatment units
• Operate and maintain Varian TrueBeam and Varian EDGE linear accelerators
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary clinical teams for safe, effective patient care
• Maintain accurate records, adhering to strict documentation practices
• Patient-focused communication to ensure comfort and understanding throughout the treatment process
