Radiation Therapist in Machesney Park, IL

This opportunity involves working with high patient volumes—averaging 64-68 individuals daily—across two advanced treatment units within a dedicated cancer center setting. Qualifications and Experience:

• Current certification in Radiation Therapy from ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Radiation accreditation
• Demonstrated background in independent workflow and adaptability in fast-paced settings
• Prior experience in mid-sized or larger hospitals strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Schedule:

• Contract role with typical clinic hours
• Clinic closure during recognized holidays; holiday closures are not included in guaranteed hour calculations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver precise radiation treatments, adhering to physicians’ protocols and ensuring patient safety
• Operate and maintain two advanced radiation treatment units, following stringent protocols
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary oncology team to coordinate patient care
• Educate and support patients throughout their treatment experience, answering questions and providing reassurance
• Document all treatments and patient interactions accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards
• Contribute to a positive and efficient environment focused on quality oncology care
