Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Active certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT)
- State licensure as required
- Previous experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical or hospital setting
- Comprehensive understanding of radiologic equipment, safety protocols, and treatment planning
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for patient interaction and teamwork
- Compassion, professionalism, and excellent organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed doses of radiation to accurately treat cancer or other diseases according to the physician’s instructions and protocols
- Prepare and position patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and proper technique
- Operate radiation therapy equipment, calibrate machines, and maintain accurate records of treatments
- Monitor patient responses, report side effects, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment procedures, expectations, and possible side effects
- Maintain strict adherence to safety guidelines for both patients and staff
- Document all treatments, observations, and communications in accordance with hospital policies
