A dynamic opportunity is available for a dedicated Radiation Therapist to support a reputable Radiation Oncology department on a per diem (PRN) basis. This essential role offers flexibility, providing coverage for vacation, leaves of absence, staffing shortages, and fluctuating patient volume. While hours are not guaranteed, you will play a vital part in ensuring continuity of care when needed most. Key Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Current California Radiation Therapist license or eligibility to obtain by start date
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy [RT(T)], or eligibility to obtain
- Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work independently and adapt to varying schedules
Preferred
- Experience with Varian and/or Accuray treatment platforms
- Previous clinical experience in a radiation oncology setting
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and safe radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including Varian and Accuray systems
- Verify patient identity and prescribed parameters prior to each treatment session
- Carefully monitor patients during therapy, responding promptly to any concerns
- Maintain detailed, timely documentation of each treatment and patient record
- Coordinate with physicians, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and support staff to optimize patient care
- Adhere to established safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements
- Take part in departmental quality assurance and professional development activities
